At the heart of Vancouver’s Mount Pleasant, The Duke by Edgar Developments has set a new benchmark for urban rental living — combining sustainable design, community vibrancy, and a distinctive architectural presence.

Situated at Broadway and Kingsway, the 14-storey LEED Gold tower anchors one of the city’s busiest transit corridors. Designed with inspiration from European architecture, The Duke integrates 201 rental homes above 4,000 square feet of retail, wrapped around a central open-air atrium that brings light, air, and greenery deep into the building.

More than just a building, The Duke is a social ecosystem. Its rooftop deck offers panoramic views of downtown and the North Shore mountains, with lounges, BBQs, and play areas that redefine multi-family living. Inside, thoughtful details — from children’s play spaces and shared kitchens to flexible apartment layouts — support connection and comfort across generations.

Public art is woven into the project’s identity. Rain by artist Khan Lee transforms the entryway with 133 fuchsia acrylic panels that capture motion and light, echoing Vancouver’s climate and creativity.

Recognized with over a dozen design and sustainability awards, The Duke exemplifies the future of rental housing in Vancouver — affordable, engaging, and unmistakably urban.
